MERA NN R&D Quality Management System Passes Regular Surveillance Audit for ISO 9001:2000

August 1, 2005 - MERA, a leading provider of telecom software engineering services, announced that its Russia-based MERA NN R&D Division has successfully completed a surveillance audit by BSI Russia, a division of BSI Management Systems — the world’ is largest and most influential management systems registrar, for the highly appreciated ISO 9001:2000 Standard.

The external two-day on-site audit has revealed that MERA’s quality management processes and procedures demonstrate a very high level of compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 International Standard. MERA’s management team and personnel were reported to be strictly committed to maintaining and constantly improving the Quality Management System in conformity with customer quality objectives and requirements via regular management reviews, internal audits, customer feedback and quality awareness training.

«This is the fourth year in a row that we have confirmed the MERA NN R&D QMS compliance with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Standard,» says Dmitry Ponomarev, President of MERA Group. «To maintain our customers’ loyalty we really need to adhere to the highest quality standards. And this compliance is verified through such regular audits. Besides, the opportunities for improvement suggested by the auditor in the course of the inspection will determine the evolution for the MERA QMS in the near future».

During the survey, the auditor specifically noted MERA’s activities aimed to implement the TL9000 Standard, which constitutes the world’s premier Quality Management System for the telecom industry. The auditor acknowledged that MERA’s business processes were compliant to TL 9000 Standard with the associated measurements being well integrated and maintained as specified in TL 9000 requirements.

To date, MERA NN R&D and BSI Management Systems Russia are jointly developing an assessment plan with the aim to perform the company’s QMS certification to TL 9000 Standard late this year.
