October, 24, 2014, Santa Clara, CA - MERA engineers will take part in The International Science and Technology Conference «SDN & NFV – The Next Generation of Computational Infrastructure», which will be held on October, 27-29 at Moscow State University. Pavel Likin and Alexander Vilchinsky, MERA software designers, will present a standalone Network Utilization Optimizer (NUO) for SD-WAN built around SDN-architechture. The application allows for effective management of city scale ISP networks with mesh connectivity. A remote SDN controller in the core of the application runs on high performance server, applying relatively complex per-flow global routing algorithms and thus optimizing the network. The application was developed using OpenFlow technologies at data plane devices and uses modified Dijkstra algorithm which searches for the route with the best spare capacity based on actual network utilization.
