MERA was founded in 1989 by researcher, inventor, and serial entrepreneur Dmitry Ponomarev, along with several academic colleagues from Nizhny Novgorod Technical University. Initially focused on highly specialized radio-physics applications, Mr. Ponomarev grew the company into a global software R&D leader, helping some of the world’s most influential companies deliver transformative solutions. Today MERA is an international corporation with headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, R&D centers in Russia and Serbia, an office in Silicon Valley, and delivery centers strategically located to serve our global customer base.

MERA signs long term agreements with Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, Kapsch Group, specializing in ICT and telecommunications as well as future-oriented telematics and traffic management systems, and becomes a full member of the European Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI).
